Counselling in New Westminster

Three ways to work together.

Whether you’re coming on your own, with a partner, or as a counsellor seeking supervision — here’s how we can work, in person in New West or virtually anywhere in BC.

Where to Start

Real therapy, in plain language.

Most people who reach out don’t have a clinical word for what’s going on. They just know something’s off and they want it to stop. After 19 years of practice, my work is grounded in science and focused on giving you skills and tools you can use the moment you leave my office. Choose the service that fits where you are right now.

How I Work

Therapy grounded in science.

I don’t just listen — I teach. Sessions are warm and real, but they’re also practical. You’ll leave with skills and tools you can actually use, not just a feeling that you were heard.

My approach pulls from a few well-researched frameworks. The framework matters less than what changes in your daily life.

A Common Question

“Should I start with individual or couples therapy?”

It’s one of the questions I’m asked most. There’s no single right answer — but here’s how I usually think about it.

Start with individual if…

The thing weighing on you feels mostly yours to carry right now — anxiety, burnout, a recent diagnosis, or a sense that you’re not acting like yourself. We’ll build your footing first.

Start with couples if…

The pattern lives between you and your partner — the same argument on repeat, feeling unheard, or rebuilding after something hard. We’ll work on it together, in the room.

Still not sure? You’re welcome to call or email and ask — no consultation booking required.
