Anxiety Counselling · New Westminster

When the worry won’t switch off.

Counselling for adults in New Westminster whose minds won’t slow down — the overthinking, the daily dread, the sense that you used to be able to manage this.

In Your Own Words

If your head sounds like this, you’re not alone.

You don’t need a diagnosis or the right words to start. If the worry is loud enough that you went looking for help, that’s enough.

“I’m getting anxious every day.”Daily anxiety
“I’m overthinking everything.”Overthinking
“I’m ruminating all day.”Rumination
“I used to be able to manage this.”Feeling overwhelmed

What anxiety actually feels like.

Anxiety isn’t always a panic attack. More often it’s the quieter, grinding kind — a mind that won’t stop running, replaying conversations, scanning for what might go wrong, keeping you up at night. It can show up in your body as tension, a tight chest, or trouble sleeping, and in your life as irritability, avoidance, or just feeling permanently on edge.

Many people who come to me say the same thing: they used to be able to handle it, and now they can’t. That shift is real, and it’s not a character flaw. Anxiety has a logic to it — once you understand what’s driving yours, it stops feeling so random and so much in charge.

How It Shows Up

Anxiety has many faces.

You might recognise some of these. We’ll work with the ones that matter most to you.

How I help.

My work with anxiety is grounded in science — how the nervous system, attention, and old patterns keep the cycle going — and it’s practical. We won’t just talk about your anxiety; I’ll teach you skills and tools you can actually use in the moment it spikes, so you have something to reach for instead of just riding it out.

Some of what we do is understanding where the anxiety comes from. Just as much of it is building day-to-day strategies that bring relief and put you back in the driver’s seat. The aim isn’t endless therapy — it’s helping you feel like yourself again, with the tools to stay that way.
