Feel like yourself again.
One-on-one therapy for adults in New Westminster and across BC — for the anxiety, overwhelm, and stuck patterns that have started to run the show.
If any of these sound like you, you’re in the right place.
Most people who book don’t have a clinical word for what’s going on. They just know something’s off — and they want it to stop. That’s enough to start.
Real therapy, in plain language.
Individual counselling is one hour, just for you. We’ll get clear on what’s actually going on, why it keeps happening, and what to do differently — without the clinical jargon and without pretending change is simple.
I’ve been a Registered Clinical Counsellor in New Westminster for 19 years. In that time I’ve learned that being listened to matters, but it isn’t enough on its own. So I don’t just listen — I teach. You’ll leave most sessions with a skill or a tool you can use that same week, when the anxiety spikes or the old pattern shows up again.
My work is grounded in science: attachment research, the neuroscience of trauma, and approaches like IFS and EFT. But the framework matters far less than what actually changes in your day-to-day life. That’s the whole point.
Areas of deep experience.
These are the things people most often come to see me about. If yours isn’t listed, reach out — there’s a good chance it overlaps with work I do every week.
A note for women in peri-menopause.
A lot of women come to me in their 40s and 50s feeling like the ground has shifted — the anxiety is sharper, focus is harder, sleep is worse, and the strategies that used to work just don’t anymore. For many, this is also when ADHD gets recognised for the first time, because the hormonal changes of peri-menopause can pull the lid off patterns that were always there.
This is a big part of my practice, even though it hasn’t always been on my website. If you’re navigating peri-menopause, a late ADHD diagnosis, or both, you’ll find someone here who understands how tangled they can be — and who works with practical tools, not just talk.
What to expect.
Book a first session
Book online whenever suits you. I don’t run 15-minute sales consultations — but you’re always welcome to call or email a question first. Sessions are in person in New West or by secure video anywhere in BC.
We get the full picture
In the first session or two we map out what’s going on and what you want to be different. You set the pace. Nothing is off-limits, and nothing is forced.
You leave with tools
From there, real work — and real skills. The goal isn’t endless therapy; it’s helping you feel like yourself again and giving you what you need to keep it that way.
Straightforward pricing.
My individual rate reflects the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors’ recommended fee for experienced counsellors, and 19 years of clinical training.
I offer direct billing to most major BC insurers, so in many cases you won’t pay the full amount out of pocket.
Coverage varies by plan, and some insurers (occasionally Manulife) reimburse you directly rather than billing the clinic. I can’t promise direct billing will go through every time — but where it doesn’t, you’ll still be able to claim through your provider.
Common questions.
Should I start with individual or couples counselling?
If the thing weighing on you feels mostly yours to carry — anxiety, burnout, a recent diagnosis, feeling unlike yourself — individual counselling is usually the place to start. If the pattern lives mostly between you and your partner, couples counselling may be the better first step. Not sure? Call or email and ask.
Do you offer a free consultation?
I don’t run a separate 15-minute consultation call — in my experience it works better to simply begin. That said, you’re always welcome to call or email with any questions before you book. That’s different from a sales demo, and I’m happy to answer.
Do you have experience with anxiety?
Yes — anxiety, overthinking, and rumination are among the most common things I work with. We’ll look at what’s driving it and build practical, science-based tools you can use when it flares, not just talk about it.
Are sessions in person or online?
Both. My office is at 490–555 6th Street in New Westminster (wheelchair accessible), and I also see clients by secure video anywhere in British Columbia. You can mix the two however suits your life.
Will my insurance cover it?
Many extended health plans cover sessions with a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), and I direct bill to most major BC insurers. Coverage depends on your specific plan, so it’s worth checking your counselling or RCC benefit before you start.
