Green Shield is currently reviewing my application so I will likely be able to directly bill them in December.

Sun Life is beginning to accept registrations from Clinical Counsellors for Direct Billing in December and expects the registration process to take one month so I will likely be able to direct bill Sun Life from January 2026.

If there are other insurance agencies not listed here that you think I should be interested in registering with feel free to let me know.

It is very exciting that Pacific Blue Cross started allowing Clinical Counsellors to register for direct billing this past summer and that Sun Life is following suit. Mental health is just as important as physical health and clients should not have financial barriers to receiving support.

Clients are still very welcome to pay upfront for their sessions by credit card, debit, e-transfer or cash and submit their receipts on their own. This is just an additional way that has been added as a method of payment for your convenience.

If interested please bring in your insurance information at the time of your session. I am just learning the ropes so am only offering to submit to one insurance agency per visit at this time.
